The house is so bare now, stripped of all evidence The house is so bare now, stripped of all evidence of the holidays. I decided today not to bring all the normal decor back in - at least not yet. Some of it will make a reappearance, but not all of it. To everything there is a season - and that includes furnishings and accessories! After a fairly tumultuous 2025 for our family, it's time for an intentional and thoughtful refresh. ✨

In the past 14 months, we've lost 3 parents, had spine and hand surgeries, and started working at a new company. We recently finished college application season with my youngest, and we're trying to wrap our heads around our nearly empty nest. So much change! Some good, some hard, but needless to say, we welcome the newness and fresh start of 2026 with arms wide open.

New energy, new decor, a new vibe. I'm ready for a household glow-up!

I'll be styling and changing up the areas you see here in due time, and I'll share it all with you as I go. ☺️

For today, bare and unstyled is okay, and gives me space and time to dream about how I want home to look and feel in this next chapter. 🏡❤️

Until this year, we've had just one Christmas tree Until this year, we've had just one Christmas tree - a freshly cut tree from the farm. We love the tradition - the day after Thanksgiving, fun family time hunting for just the perfect one. Some years we find it, some years we don't...but we have learned that any tree becomes perfect once it's decorated with love.

These ornaments each tell our story: some of our childhood, some of our kids' younger years. Some handmade gifts, some remembrances of our travels. Some exchanged at parties with friends, others chosen just because they made us smile. All of them representations of where we have been and happy times shared.

While I do love our new faux tree, too, the memories made and relived each year in the real one will always be my favorite ❤️.
